SOMMER WORKSHOP IN TICINO WITH NIK BÄRTSCH & ANDREA PFISTERER:
MUSIC TRAINING, MEDITATION AND AIKIDO:
31.7. - 6.08.2012, Val Mesocco / Ticino (Switzerland)
The workshop combines music and martial arts training (especially Aikido) in a concentrated atmosphere in the Centro Humanita, Cabbiolo in the beautiful Val Mesocco (Ticino, Switzerland).
We will work in a small group of 10 persons on the physical, mental and musical attitude.
The workshop is for advanced musicians (amateurs, professionals, students) who also have an interest in body techniques and meditation
For accomodation simple and beautiful single and double bedrooms are offered. The Centro provides tasty organic dishes (vegetarian also possible)

Tuesday, 31.7.: Arrival and joint dinner
Friday, 3.8.: Afternoon and evening free (e.g. Swimming in the river, hiking or visiting the Locarno film festival)
Monday, 6.8.: Departure after breakfast
Other days: Meditation and Aikido training before breakfast, three sets of Music training during the day
Workshop fee: 650.- CHF/530.- EUR (payment prior to workshop to bank account)

Number of participants limited to 10 persons, registrations will be handled on a first come - first serve basis; although instrument and experience will be relevant too. Registration deadline: May 31.
Workshop leaders:
Nik Bärtsch (1971): pianist and composer. Aikido level: 1. Dan. Lives in Zurich.
Study of jazz piano and drums since he was 8. 1997 classical piano diploma at the Musikhochschule Zurich. 1998-2001 study of philosophy, linguistics and musicology at the University of Zurich (not completed). 2003/04 6 months stay in Japan.
As pianist and composer working continuously on his RITUAL GROOVE MUSIC. Leader of MOBILE and the Zenfunk quintet RONIN. Lectureship for 'Practical Aesthetics' at the Musikhochschule ZH/Winterthur (2000-2003).
Andrea Pfisterer-Bärtsch (1970): PhD in Biology. Works at the Zurich-Basel Plant Science Center. Aikido teacher in traditional Aikido; 2.Dan. (Senseis: Morihiro Saito and Lewis Bernaldo de Quiros, http://traditionalaikido.eu/EN/).
